About Us
Back in 1967, Ed Hall decided he didn’t give a lick about popsicles. So he sold his interest in an ice cream novelty company and scooped up Boelte Lithography from its owner, Art Boelte. Mr. Boelte retired a few years later, but since B comes before H in the phone book, the name Boelte-Hall stuck.
With just two employees and a handful of customers, the entire operation fit into the basement of H&R Block. Today, we’ve grown from that fledgling print shop to one of Kansas City’s leading full-service printers. We deliver quality printing to many of the area’s top companies – quickly and cost-effectively.
While technological innovations have dramatically changed the printing process since we first opened our doors, color management remains a top priority at Boelte-Hall. Our commitment to delivering quality products and services is amplified by the talents of the people who make up our Boelte-Hall team. At least half of our employees have worked at Boelte-Hall for 10 years, some for more than 20. Ask them why they stay and the answer is simple, “We like it here!”
And we think you’ll like working with us, too! Boelte-Hall offers you a complete array of printing products and services backed by the greatest people in the printing industry, so…

Great Printing Happens Here!
Sure, Boelte-Hall has the best equipment and technology available. A lot of printers say that. What makes us different? The people who work here.
We work for you as Customer Focused Teams. So you’ll have direct access to each team member’s expertise. Say you have a question about file prep? You’ll talk directly to a prepress specialist who has the know-how to help. We really do listen.
At Boelte-Hall, we take care of our processes to make sure your job comes out right. We monitor jobs for density and dot gain, and we run daily tests confirming that our equipment is calibrated through the entire printing process.
Your complete satisfaction is our goal. To meet that goal, we know it’s critical that we get your job done right, every time.
Want your next project to be a stunning success? Check out Boelte-Hall!
What’s with the apple?
When Ed Hall was looking for a memorable icon for his printing business, he hired a graphic designer who suggested a juicy red apple. Little did he know, Ed’s dad owned an apple orchard in Weston, Missouri. To Ed, the apple brought back memories of something good, and the apple tree something strong. These were the exact qualities he wanted to convey about the company.
The next time you see an apple, remember – Boelte-Hall is the printer worth picking!

Placed at 100%, an image will retain its resolution. However, scaling will change its “effective” resolution. For example, a 300 dpi image placed at 200% will have an effective resolution of 150.
